The Family Reunion organizers are Kim A. Limkeman and Verne Stein. Kim and Verne are fourth generation descendants of George and Della Brumbaugh. Both Kim and Verne desire to have the reunion continue for future generations and they decided, after consultation with third generation family members, that 2009 would be the year to move the reunion to a new venue. Why? The old Missouri site is not familiar to many family members and it has very few conveniences which later generation family members find important. George and Della Brumbaugh had 17 children. They were married December 11, 1894 and gave birth to their first child Sherman on January 27, 1896 and ended with their youngest child Alvin Ralph Brumbaugh on May 23, 1920. From this 1894 union there are now nearly 1,000 descendants deceased and living. Each year since 1930 family members have come together to meet and bring the family up to date. One can only imagine how difficult it might have been for those first generation descendants to track nearly 45 nieces and nephews and their families!!! |
